Common Man Caravan Update:
By Ross Anthony
Jim and Sue of Willits, California launch a common man caravan of donated travel trailers to carry supplies and volunteers to those who need them as a result of Hurricane Katrina and Rita.
Today (10/9), the second trailer to New Orleans sets sail. Jason and Linda (also of Willits) had been planning a family vacation, but decided to transform that vacation into a giving experience. While the family has hooked up with Jim and Sue who initiated the Common Man Caravan, Jason and Linda’s trailer trek will be quite autonomous. The trailer they’ll be towing has been donated by Sean at Willits One Stop Garden Shop. If you’d like to donate financially or materially to this endeavor, contact Jason or Linda at 707-459-1519.
The first trailer will arrive tomorrow in the New Orleans area. Stopping for sleep and routine maintenance, the three man crew used newly donated funds to pick up a 1200watt generator to be dropped with the trailer. They plan to pick up more supplies to donate in Shreveport.
Regardless of your location, you are encouraged to find a way to drive a trailer down to those in need. You can always call Jim and Sue for tips, ideas, pep-talk at 707-459-5495
