TEACHER INSTRUCTIONS & RULES
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Use this contest as a classroom writing activity. Though work should be essentially that of the student, feel free to assist students with editing -- mark errors and return to students for revisions, etc.
2. Request Writing Contest Prompts (at www.FreeClassroomWritingContest.com).
3. Judge your students' entries on a 10-point scale: (Content - 7pts. Grammar - 1pts. Spelling - 1pts. Punctuation - 1pt.)
4. Click the PLAY button at FreeClassroomWritingContest.com, boxes will await your entries.
5. Copy & Paste (or type) the best 5 entries from your class into the boxes provided there online. Submitted entries should not include teacher scoring. Each classroom's best 5 entries will then be judged by Author/Illustrator Ross Anthony.
6. Book Prizes will be mailed within 1-3 weeks of your entry date.
7. Deadlines: The contest must be run prior to 1 month before the end of your school year. But the earlier the better as to have more time to harness the new energy your students will experience toward reading and writing.
8. Questions anyone? Raise your hand. Better yet use the form at FreeClassroomWritingContest.com - Step 2 PLAY.
Or just call 1-800-767-7186.

* At least 15 students in each classroom must contribute entries in order for that classroom to be considered a "participating classroom."
* This contest and its prizes are for schools within the USA. If you're outside the USA and would like to run the contest, let Ross know at FreeClassroomWritingContest.com. When the contest becomes available internationally, he'll let you know.
* All rules, play and prizes subject to change at anytime, so get in while the contest is still available!
* Each classroom may only enter once per year.
* Teachers will receive Ross Anthony's monthly author e-newsletter.
