D-1000
Cinego
Review by Ross Anthony

I can't remember exactly what I paid for this unit, but it wasn't even close to full price. Radio shack was dumping them. I think it was around four hundred. Anyway. I like it. I'm happy. I needed something to use in presentations and to show dvds at home. It does both. I can hook it to my computer via the serial cable, looks great. But since it has a built in DVD play, if I take the time to put my presentations onto CD – then I don't even have to bring my laptop to the presentations.

The thing does what it says it does. I'm happy with the picture and I have a critical eye. I'm not a techy, but I am a creator and have produced some video docs in the past. But, what I don't like about the unit is the Svideo input – that has never worked for me – just gives me a noisy image – I resort to the standard input which looks much better.

The product even comes with a powered bass unit. Can you believe that? I would have bought it anyway. It even comes with built in little speakers. It's self contained and mobile.

While I wait for DLP projectors with USB readers to come down costwise, I'm happy with my Cinego.
