Never Metaphysical I Didn't Like
Doctor Strange
Review by Ross Anthony

Want a hero with metaphysical superpowers? Need a more spiritual action film? Try Dr. Strange. Squashing one's powerful ego in a matter of weeks – that's impressive strength! In all seriousness, I appreciated the new-agey-ness of this latest Marvel character film released by Disney.

Benedict Cumberbatch and Tilda Swanson are both mighty, and their interactions on screen are a pleasure to watch. That said, the actual physical fighting on screen becomes a bit tiresome (I know I may be in the minority on that - but, more powerful spiritualism would have been apropos). Still, gorgeous "Inception type special effects" (x10) make the film a spectacle to behold. and It's always captivating and fun (save for the "more than necessary" clangy fight scenes). Brilliant as an origin story, though, a sequel may pose more of a challenge.

They sure pack this film with a lot of thought, spirit, visuals, acting, action, and good humor.

It can also stand for "Really Awkward Nutty Dinosaurs" -- which is quite rand, isn't it?) Being alive is the miracle.
