A sweet fable about a boy, a dream, and his open ear to life's teachings. A testament to the potential of taking steps toward your goal -- even if that goal keeps changing. I never finished this book. It spoke to me. And one of the things it spoke was not to finish it. Perhaps that's saying something about goals, and listening to unconventional wisdom from unconventional sources. I think so. "The boy was becoming more and more convinced that alchemy could be learned in one's daily life." "We are afraid of losing what we have, whether it's our life or our possessions and property. But this fear evaporates when we understand that our life stories and the history of the world were written by the same hand." |
