Moana endears by following the "can't lose" hero's journey formula. It's fun, sports beautiful visuals, and good music – especially "You're Welcome" (sung by the Rock: Dwyane Johnson), and "Shiny" (sung by the always funny Jemaine Clement of "Flight of the Conchords" fame). I greatly enjoyed the artistic direction and lamented the fact that I wasn't watching it in 3D. If you're looking for a fun film with good energy this will fit that bill. Then when you get home search Youtube for some old episodes of "Flight of the Conchords." |
