AAA - Adorable, Absolutely Adorable. You'll joyously gaze at the screen with a sincere and shimmering half smile that breaks out into laughter every five minutes. Clever sight gags and amazingly careful details populate this colorful and imaginatively little film. It's beautiful, have a look.
I remember Nick Park (of Aardman Studios that produced Shaun the Sheep and other great claymation films) saying in an interview how hard it was to clay-animate the characters's mouths for dialogue – and wherever he could he'd avoid it via off screen comments, or carefully placed objects (such as a newspaper) to cover that part of the face. With Shaun the Sheep, filmmakers Burton & Starzak make a bold decision to avoid speech all together. Grunts, groans, and the occasional fart, but speech has been effectively replaced by adorable eye and eyebrow manipulation contributing to charming facial expression. It works marvelously!
