The Man Who Planted Trees
Review by Ross Anthony

A beautiful and inspirational parable that demonstrates the power of persistence and belief -- and desire to do good in and to the world. It's a tale to fall in love with. That said, the translation I read lacks a certain color in writing style. It's really more of a short story than novel.

"He had withdrawn into this solitude where his pleasure was to live leisurely with his lambs and his dog. It was his opinion that this land was dying for want of trees. He added that, having no very pressing business of his own, he had resolved to remedy this state of affairs."
