A Good Person |
Review by Ross Anthony |
Seems like it's been a while since I've experienced a film that moved me at every turn. This film brought me to tears of compassion and held me there. Yes, there are some manufactured dramatic turns, and some abrupt maneuvers (I'll attribute them to cuts in editing), but this picture hits the heart in a beautiful life-affirming way. Do you need a film with this sort of theme? "Yes, life can be really f'd up, painful, agonizing, but also beautiful. It's well worth asking for help, pulling yourself up, and pulling up someone that hurt you as well." Do your compassion strings need a tug? See this film. The acting is spectacular. Florence Pugh is a freakin' force! I never didn't believe her. Chinaza Uche also powers his performance. Great pace and tone. Zach Braff took some hits on RT for this film. I don't quite understand it. I really appreciate the writing here, and the direction is top notch. Anyway, have a look and let me know what you think.

Rand() functions, Pho chicken soup, rollerblading, and frozen yogurt (w/ blueberries) also rock! (Btw, rand is short for random. It can also stand for "Really Awkward Nutty Dinosaurs" -- which is quite rand, isn't it?) Being alive is the miracle.
