Maverick
Top Gun
Review by Ross Anthony

Starts quiet, ends loud. Strong, fun movie. It's absolutely exhilarating and you'll get choked up too. Or maybe that's just me, I'm a softie.

Yeah, sure it has cheesy moments. Yes, some of the plot, and in fact, the premise itself simply does not sit on solid ground (so to speak). Yet, despite all of that silliness, the filmmakers, creatives, talent, and technical experts involved make it so very easy for us to forget about the faults and get wound up in Maverick's internal and external conflicts. The film heartily engages with touching moments, and even more big action flying time - great thunderous sound and a magnificent score. Great to see Val Kilmer on screen who, btw, really does have issues speaking. Check out his documentary entitled "Val." I love how they made it all work.

Can't imagine not seeing this on the big screen.
