What a magical way to spend a Southern California evening! This event sells out fast, so pay attention to when the tickets go on sale and pounce! They won't last the day. That said, the parking was free! You'll walk to the entrance check in, then follow a meandering lighted path (already beautiful) after which a staff member will ask you if you'd like to take the shuttle or get in line for the entrance to the Chinese Garden. TIP: Take the shuttle! The line for the front entrance to the Chinese Garden is longer than it looks (especially if you're arriving right at the opening time). The shuttle takes you to the upper entrance to the Chinese Garden where the food trucks are. At least for me, there was no line up there!

Another Tip! Get there at 6:30 if you can, the grounds are stunning in dusk. Worry not, even after dusk, the grounds are impeccably curated, crafted, and illuminated. It's a magical experience either way, but if you can, see it in both types of light. There's food, music, crafting, two great walls to hang your wishes. This event is limited to the Chinese Garden, but The Huntington is something of a LA-area gem and hosts several gardens, and library and art museum.
