A young conflicted priest helps investigate the case of a corpse covered with mysterious religious symbols written in Aramaic. The priest realizes this murder may be the work of the last of an ancient Christian order (outside the Catholic Church) called the Sin Eaters, who claim to absolve the guilty of their sins, except there's one catch: the absolution is fatal.
